About DNAdventures

Much travel is needed to ripen a man’s rawness. – British Proverb

I have a core mission that I’ve continued since I was about 14 years old. That core is a quote that I wrote down in my high school year book. It is to “live a life that’s as adventurous, bizarre, grand, and enlightening as possible.” Since then, I haven’t deviated from that path. Now, granted, one of the definitions of adventure that I picked up along the way is, “Adventure is 90% boredom, and 10% sheer terror.” Which I can viscerally say I’ve confirmed personally!

Two and a half years, and 12,000 miles.

My adventures include riding a bicycle solo through the South and Central America for two and a half years and about 12,000 miles, sailing an indigenous made sailing canoe along the San Blas Archipelago, and being the first Westerner to see some ancient monuments that were unearthed by Peruvian authorities. I’ve gone ghost hunting and vortex hunting with some very interesting, and indeed, creepy results. I’ve had a Big Foot encounter, which was totally not on purpose by the way and scared the living $#!T out of me. I’ve pursued invasive species, dived on sharks, wrecks, and tripped out into the nether worlds as I pursued bits and pieces of information to piece together our reality.

I’ve long pursued the trail for the mythical like Atlantis, to the exotic like trekking through unknown areas of the remote Amazon rainforest, searched for leads on the were-tiger in Southeast Asia, to the mundane like hunting and fishing the ever elusive, and simply delicious Nothern snakehead fish.

In all my adventures, I primarily utilize my mind, muscles, resourcefulness, and the natural forces at my disposal. My primary methods of movement are via two wheels, like a bicycle, or by wind, with a sailboat. My philosophy of exploration is similar to British explorer Major Percival Fawcett.

Keep it light, keep it simple, and keep it effective.

In short, this blog is a repository of experience, research, and a grand ole yarn that you can read by a flickering fire of one very adventurous, and inquisitive dude in a never ending quest to explore the boundaries and beyond of our world and other worlds out there. So come join me, whether physically or vicariously for a grand adventure!
